Betsy Caesar is a playground designer and safety expert. As founder and president of her company, Playcare, she has designed over 250 playgrounds. Betsy founded and chaired a committee that recognized safety standards for infant and toddler playgrounds. She received a Certificate of Appreciation from the American Society of Testing and Materials and has received several awards from the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Early Childhood Linkage System as well as the Grand Jury Award from the Historic Preservation Alliance for her work on safely restoring Smith’s Giant Wooden Slide.

Rob Einhorn visited Smith regularly as a child and was reintroduced by Jim Strazzella in 2004. Since then, he has generously contributed his time and expertise, spending countless hours on a wide range of tasks, such as building the welcome kiosk, designing and building a structure for composting, and replacing fences felled in a major storm. Rob is always ready to provide advice on the maintenance challenges that a 118-year old building can present, and rolls up his sleeves to get jobs done.
